This painting began as a depiction of Versailles — the palace, the symbol (can you spot the XIV?), the ideal. Then I painted Versailles over it, deconstructing opulence into emotion, memory, and raw energy. It’s about rewriting history in color, about what remains when we let go of perfection and lean into what’s visceral and real.
